Something I just needed to write

I am so mad and so disappointed in my self and my family.
I hate it how just all the happy things in life can just crush and burn in seconds, when you took hours to plan and prepare them. But, whatever. It's life right? And that's how it's suppose to be. I'm just happy now, and I guess okay. Okay, scratch the happy part, 'cause that's just all dogpoop. But I guess that I'm.. still getting there.. but fine. I can accept the fact that plans break apart, and not everything will be perfect. I got it. It's just disappointing sometimes.
I was hoping to find a bible verse that would support how I feel right now, but I can't really find one. So.. ._.

Daily Devotion (?)

Uhm, hi. Sorry about this Kuya Jb. But, I didn't want to write it in a journal.. I don't like wrting, I prefer trying. So, I decided to put it here! :) From BUgirl.

First Devotion - December 7, 2008. <3 (Happy Fourteen Months Tier)

Bible Verse: "He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There won't be any more death. There won't be anymore grief, crying, or pain, because the first thing has disappeared." - Revelation 21:4

Thoughts..
I think this Bible Verse is saying that when the Rapture is over and all the previous things pass away, the New Jerusalum will come and appear to all Christians and people that has survived the Last Judgement from God. The New Jerusalum will be filled with peace and all the unessacesy things we had on earth will be gone. There will be no pain in the New Jerusalum, no more crying, no more deaths.. for it is a Holy Place and will always be a holy place. It will be how Adam and Eve lived before they both sinned.. Paradise. This Bible Verse encourages me to keep going in life, and just to keep looking forward to everything that will happen. It's telling me to still put up with the pain and sorrow, because soon all of it will be gone. Soon everyone who has accepted Christ in their heart will be with God, our Lord. Soon we will be face to face with him, we will all be rejoicing with him! This Bible Verse gives me courage to keep going.

Rewritten: "He will make none of you cry. He won't put you through anymore pain, sorrow, grief, death. For the previous beginnings has passed away."

Update. Late Update.

Since no one else here would like to relive this site, I will. I will update all of you, if any of you guys still go on this! Hm, with this year coming to an end, we will have New .. Officers? Haha. So.. those people are.. now.. Aveline - Junior Leader, Jordan - Contact Coridenater, Adam - .. Writter, I forgot what you call it, and Janelle - Activity Organizater. Well, I think that's everything. S: I'm pretty sure I'm missing one though! Hm, and we have new people coming in! Dan and Jan! So, we're all pretty much excited for '09. And at the same time, scared. But that's okay. :) Another year of knowledge for God.. here we come!

Mission Requests

Heya Everyone!

I hope everyone had a great time at our Mini Bible Camp. I would like the following officers to do which ever one has your name on it. Here's the list:

1. Create a little survey about our first activity. Write all the comments and answers; hand in a complete summary of the survey. The survey itself can be on the phone, msn, or hardcopy.(Peachy and Jordan)

2. Obtain suggestions from each member to improve future fellowships and activities. (Aveline)

3. Hand in a full review/summary of the above missions. The report can be emailed, or hardcopy. (Mark)

Here's the deal. Peachy will do the calling and asking, then Peachy will hand in the results to Jordan, who will hand in the complete summary to Mark. Lastly, to be handed in to me later on. Same goes for Aveline's report.

Q: What are we going to ask?!
A: Simple questions like.... "Did you learn something from the sessions?", "Do you think there were too much free times?" etc.

My purpose for this is to hear your personal thoughts about our activities so we can improve them in the future. And also, this will serve as a passive voice towards the report I am going to hand in for the Christian Education.

You guys can do it! ;D

Expected Due Date: April 6, 2008

March 16, 2008

This week, we met with our parents to discuss our first "gathering" which is a sleepover/mini bible camp at Mark's house from March 21-22.

We will start on the 21st after the Good Friday service. We will have our first session @ 6:00pm. Afterwards, we will have FREE TIME!!
The next day, we'll start with a devo, then a session. Followed by lunch, then FREE TIME!!/clean up.
*Don't forget your underwear and deodorant!

We need donations for food, or you can just donate food. If you can, please do :D

This is what we have for food so far:
My Mom will provide

Lasagna
Pandesal
Cheese

Auntie Arlyn will provide

Brownies
Drinks
Eggs... (O-o)

Uncle Boyet will provide

Fried Chicken :D

Auntie Lalaine will provide

More drinks... HUZZAH!

We can bring game systems, but we can't go overboard and play all night D: (wink wink)

We will have 1 breakfast, 1 lunch and 2 dinners. We should be picked up on the 22nd around 7-8ish.

So far, I can drive 3 people home and Auntie Cora can drive 3 or 4. We will decide on more rides soon.

In other news, the Twilight Cafe plans were cancelled.

Also, in spring and summer, we may have bible studies in the park :D

Look on the Master Calendar on the Filipino Evangelical Church's main website. We may have our events posted on their so there are no schedule conflicts between our plans and everyone else's.

Blog Orientation

Greetings parents and members!

This post will explain the stuff that makes this blog "hi-tech". I didn't have sufficient time to explain in during the meeting... :/

Anyways, here we go...

The blog contains various parts and sections; each contributing for presentation and documentation.

1. Introductory and Title Section (Heading)

This section contains the group's name, and a short introductory statement, which summarizes our motives and goals.

2. Body Section

This section is where all the blog posts go in. The posts are arranged from the "lastest" post down to older posts. (Ain't it FINE?! ;D)

3. Author's Section

This is where the names of our members are listed. These names are specific links to their profile. (I specifically told them NOT to put any "personal" information in their profile, its for security purposes)

4. Reminder Section (Powered by 30boxes.com)

This contains important dates for our members. For example, birthdays, upcoming events, etc.
Special thanks to 30boxes! =D

5. Resource Area

This contains a list of different links that could be fairly useful for the group's activities/research.
Special thanks to the websites I linked! ;D

6. Blog Archive

This organizes the different posts according to the month a certain post has been posted.

7. Labels Section

This is an even better organizer! For instance, you were looking for a post... the labels section can help you out because each post is tagged with a specific "topic" such as "suggestions". (Again, I strongly advice all members to TAG their posts! >=D)

8. Chatbox (Powered by Shoutmix)

This is like a built-in MSN in our blog, except you have to refresh each time you talk if you want to see what the other person said... -_-. Anyone can use this feature to chat. (assuming your msn is not working ;D) This seems a very good and private feature... sadly, its not. The chatbox is probably contains the most potential danger in the blog. Dangers, meaning, spammers, evil people who links bad stuff on text, etc. This doesn't mean you dont wanna use the chatbox. As a group coordinator, I watch this blog as often as possible. Any spam or bad links can easily be removed.

9. Song of the Day (Powered by imeem.com)

This is one of my favourites. This basically gives life to the blog by playing some worship songs while you surf around. The songs are changed every 24 hours (starting at 7pm). You can turn it off by clicking "pause" in the section. Special thanks to those who uploaded the songs to Imeem!! =D

10. Visits Section (Powered by ClusterMaps)

This tracks anyone who visits this blog. Don't worry, it just "tracks", not "hacks". This is a potential "bragging section" by showing visitors how much people visited/viewed your blog. Basically, Manitoba has the most visits. (You know why... ;D)

11. Copyright Section (Bottom; Powered by Creative Commons)

Finally, the copyright section. This is the most serious part of the blog. Our blog is basically "copyrighted". Meaning, whatever we post is "OURS". Anyone who attemps to copy our stuff will cause a major offense. (believe me... its not gonna be nice =D) Special thanks to the "Creative Commons Attribution of Canada License"

That's all I have to share with you guys about the blog. You have any questions, ask away! ;D

FROG's Pre-KickOff

Ahoy everyone! Now that we have completed our "tell yo folks" phase. We're are now ready to present these ideas to the Christian Education. After that, we have to inform Pastor about everything as well. That's where our handy-dandy blog kicks in. As soon as everyone else is informed, and they have approved our future actions. It's time to RIDE! =D

This Week ..

Heyyo.. this is Jordan here to uhmmm .. yeah here's the summary of the meeting today, Sunday, February 10, 2008 at Filipino Evangelical Church.

This week at our meeting, we dragged our parents along with us just so they know what's going on with our group. We informed them about our activity/fellowship (lol longfellow deeds) plans.

We will alternate between an activity and a longfellow-ship (lol) every month. They will probably be on the 3rd Saturday of every month. We will also do a fundraiser once every 2 months. For example, in the summer we might have a bake sale or a homemade lemonade stand.

Auntie Cora volunteered said we could use her house for our longfellow-ship at her house for March.
We will schedule the other months soon.

There will be a Junior Church Service downstairs for the kids every 2nd or 3rd Sunday of the month. It's like a normal church service except reformatted for the children... longfellow deeds.

If you have any suggestions for activites, questions, or you're looking for a new man<3>(;P), you can contact our group leader, JB.

PLEASE READ: End of Winter Activities

Hey guys! Remember I told you that we can barely do some outdoor stuff cuz its dead freezing? Well, I came up with our first 2 activies. From your suggestion, I took going to someone's house, and the laser tag thingy.

First off... We're gonna start off with something easy... going to someone's house is uber easy. All we do is decide which house, ask the owner of that house if we could have a little fellowship/chillage; of course, we wont forget a little devotional.

This is good for a Saturday, but we have to decide WHEN ASAP because my work needs to be 2 weeks ahead before I ask for a day off. So, comment on this post as soon as you can.

Second thing, the Laser Tag. I know its the very first suggestion you guys gave out. So, I've been looking around Winnipeg for a laser tag place. So far, I found a place called "DarkZone". It's located at Osborne-Pembina. For sure, transportation is not a problem cuz I know where it is. Its sorta far for some of you, but if you guys really want to, I'll call the place get some details if we could book off a private blasting time. ;D (I know you want it...)

I would also like to suggest if we could have fund raisers every 2 activies. So we wont be draining your parent's money or your allowance. The first fund raiser I have in mind is... a Bake sale or Mark's idea: A Lemonade stand. In the future, I would also like to have "plays" or some other types of presentation that would be interesting, such as Band Concerts (assuming you guys are masters of your instruments, we'll get to that ;D)

So basically, I need your comments if you agree. The next step is figuring out the details of our activities. Discuss it with your folks after I give out the details. Then, our Contact Coordinator will call each and one of you if they agreed or disagreed. Be prepared to give a reason, I might be able to persuade them if they said "No".

End-of-Year Video Presentation

Heya everyone! My brain just hatched an idea. I was thinking... what if we could make a video presentation of our future activities... I think it would blow people's mind! XD

If we all agree on this, I need a new officer from you guys... the FlickMaster.

The FlickMaster's job is simply to take pictures, recordings, podcasts, etc; each time we have an activity. Then, at the end of the year, he/she will put this all together and make an outstanding, crowd-pleasing Event Video! (P.S. Powerpoint is wayyyy too old school)

And also, I would suggest some comedy within the video, like funny pictures, weirdness, etc.

Just nominate someone you have in mind on the comments. Then we'll vote when we meet personally.

Personally, I already have someone in mind... He makes excellent videos and amazing effects with just Windows Movie Editor... I don't know if you know who I am talking about... ;D

Oh this is gonna be great!!! =D (Lol.. i have wayyy too much ideas... idk where i get these... xP)

Thanks guys!
Jib

Worship Practice 1

Heya guys! We're gonna press on with the practice this friday, Feb. 8, 2008. It will be AFTER AWANA. Dun worry we're not gonna take that long... (depends xP)

First Worship Team Meeting: Do You have What it Takes to Be the Next "Church Idol"?

Heya guys! I talked to my dad about forming a worship team. You know the answer already. ;D

Anyhow, first of all, I need everyone to have a little audition. This is not sorta like American Idol where Simon is gonna make you cry, then you'll get mad at me. (although, that would be fun... xP)

The purpose of the Audition is to find out what you guys are capable of and where can I put you on the stage. Of course... I'm gonna criticize you, but not in a harsh way.

The introduction is just to orient you with "What is Worship anyways?" I'm pretty sure you guys have this question in mind.

The only thing I can tell you guys right now is that... We are NOT going to sing until after we are actually ready. My dad proposed that we SHOULD be ready at least before the church anniversary. He wanted us to sing that day. Apparently, since my dad is in charge of the worship ministry, everything will coordinate well.

During our first practice(s), we're just gonna get used to the instruments, being on stage, applying some new worship methods I would like us to do, etc.

Lastly, our first meeting will be announced next week. (I still have to check my work schedule for next week... xP) I will update this blog post. Aight?!

Cheers,
Jib =D

Blogging Part 2

Watup? I just wanna remind everyone ab0ut posting.

DO NOT... I repeat DO NOT post the "last" name of a member/person. Remember guys, this is a "public" blog. Anyone, and I mean "anyone" can view this. Posting your last name is not very safe. Its for privacy and security purposes.

And furthermore, I would strongly suggest you guys make sure your profile is BLANK, except your display name and some other stuff that is required for your account.

Thanks y'all! ;D

P.S. I already edited your posts, dun worry about it. ;D

Worship Team: Prepare Yourselves!

Hi everyone! I've been researching some interesting stuff with regards to Praise and Worship.

For Jordan: Tambourine Techniques (for Tambourine Masters)

For Aveline, Peachy, and Janelle (if she wants to): Singing Tips and Hints / Singer's FAQ

For Daryll and Mark: Guitar Lessons Online

For Tier: Bass Techniques

For Adam: (err... you're good at it already... xP)

Check out these sites. It will help you prepare when we actually start rockin'! ;D

T-shirts anyone?

Hi guys! I just had an awesome idea... Would you guys prefer T-shirts? Yeah, you heard me... Customized with our logo (we'll have one... eventually...) and at the back, there will be a text saying your position/job in the group? (eg. Jr. Leader, Journalist, Member, etc. )

Comment on it in this post... I think its a good idea.. and its gonna be REALLY cheap. If you all agree, I'll discuss the details in another post.

Cheers,
Jib =D

Tagging

Heya everyone! I would just like to ask you guys to "tag" or "label" your posts so our blog is organized and stuff will be easy to find. This would work very well when our blog posts exceeds 200. o.o

Anyhow, you can use these labels on your work... The label part is right on the bottom left of your text box. You won't miss it. xP

1. Suggestion

2. Report

3. Activity

4. Meeting

5. Shoutout

Fairly straight forward aight? Thanks guys! ;D

NB: Some other labels may be used. (eg. Worship, Survey, etc.)

This Sunday...

Hello, this is Jordan updating you on the events that took place on Sunday, January 27, 2008 (or lack there of... [whatever that means]) ANYWAYSSS..

Yeahhh we had a meeting to name the "mini-officers" for F.R.O.G. 2008. The officers are as follows:
Junior Leader - Mark
Journalist - Jordan
Suggestion Coordinator - Aveline
Contact Coordinator - Peachy
Attendance Coordinator - Adam

If you have a suggestion for an activity, please contact Aveline or JB Dava. We may also have a suggestion poll on Facebook where you can vote for which activity we will do the following month.

We can also do some fundraising for charity, activities or for the church. We could have a bake sale, or EVEN A LEMONADE STAND 8DD

F.R.O.G. members will meet every last Sunday of the month to discuss the previous month and changes will be made official at that time. Kuya JB will inform everyone if he wants to make a change in the date.

Blah,
Jordan
